Ultra Low Sulfur Grassroots Distillate Hydrotreater

C&I performed a feasibility study to determine the modifications necessary to produce Tier 2 diesel fuel for the refinery. The study consisted of the evaluation of catalyst vendors, block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, preliminary P&IDs, and equipment data sheets. C&I worked closely with the client to evaluate several innovative technologies for sulfur removal and disposal before settling on a conventional amine-sulfur plant design, which was designed by C&I. This was a true team effort among C&I, the client, and the catalyst vendor that led to a very successful feasibility design and cost estimate for the hydrotreater and associated sulfur recovery equipment.
