C&I developed a feasibility-level estimate for a grass-roots 42,000 BPD naphtha hydrotreater utilizing Exxon?s Scanfining technology. Timing was critical, C&I completed the feasibility level design and cost estimate in three weeks. C&I?s Process group developed the naphtha hydrotreater model using HYSYS simulation software, sized major equipment (distillation columns, vessels, exchangers, heaters, pumps and compressors), evaluated metallurgy requirements, and prepared a PFD of the process. C&I?s Controls department used these equipment sizes, design conditions, metallurgy, and plot area to develop a factored cost estimate using ICARUS estimating software in conjunction with AACE Cost Engineering Guidelines.
